Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: How do I become a part of the club?
PSCS holds tryouts in the beginning of the Fall semester after returning from summer break. These tryouts usually take place within the second week of school, so if you're planning on trying out, make sure you bring your equipment back with you. Additionally, PSCS will be attending the Fall involvment fair. Other questions and tryout information can be answered at our booth. If you have any other questions, feel free to email us at [email protected].
You must be a Penn State University Park student to join.
Q: How often do you practice?
We practice four times a week Monday-Thursday all year-round. This means that we hold practices during the winter months as well. Weather permitting, we practice at Sunset Park. During inclement weather, we hold conditioning practices in IM.
Q: How strict is attendance?
Great attendance is recommended, but not mandatory. PSCS is a club sport and does not make practices mandatory in order to be a part of the team. However, playing time will be judged on how often you attend. If you need to miss practice for a legitimate reason, just tell one of the officers.
Q: How often do you travel?
PSCS travels a good amount; usually about 40% of our games require traveling.
Q: What forms need to filled out and do we pay dues?
Before practicing with us, each player must fill out a participation agreement. This form can be found on IM Leagues, under the Club Sports tab.
We have each player submit dues during the fall for the fall and spring season. The amount will be provided after the team is picked in the fall.
Q: What happens if I miss the tryouts during the fall?
Unfortunately, if you miss tryouts during the fall, you cannot join the traveling team because we finalize the roster in the fall. Sometimes, due to numbers, we have held tryouts or added members in the winter/spring, but this is a rare occurrence. Follow us on social media to keep up to date on any news of tryouts!
